Call to Worship
We come before Almighty God in faithfulness,
With trust in God's eternal faithfulness to us.
We persevere as we call upon God,
Confident that God will hear us and answer us.

*Opening Hymn #315 Every Time I Feel The Spirit

*Prayer of Confession (in unison)
Loving and patient God, we confess to you our impatience with the timing of your grace, and our lack of faith in the certainty of your provision for our needs. We have wants and needs, and we have expectations of when and how you will act. We confess also that we move in directions that may not be in accord with your will, creating crises that cause us to flag in our trust in you. We seek your forgiveness and offer our minds and hearts to be cleansed, cleared, and filled with renewed longing for your will to be done in your good time and in your perfect way. Release us into the world to work as agents of your grace, and help us to inspire and build up others. In the loving faithfulness of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

*Passing The Peace
Not an easy peace, not an insignificant peace,
not a half-hearted peace, but the peace of the
Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
And also with you.
Leader: Let us share God's peace with each other.
(Please share the peace of Christ with those around you)

*Gloria Patri #579 Gloria Patri

Proclaiming The Word

Children's Time
Imagine together: You are on a long car trip. The children are parents; I, the pastor, am the child. Pretend to buckle into seatbelts and encourage each child to grab an imaginary steering wheel to drive. Instruct them (the children as parents) to give only one reply to your questions: "No, not yet."

Prayer Of Illumination

First Lesson 2 Timothy 3:14 - 4:5 (page 1855)
The Word of the Lord.
Thanks be to God.

Choir Anthem Be Thou My Vision arr. Carlton Young

Second Lesson Luke 18:1-8 (page 1628)
The Word of the Lord.
Thanks be to God.

Sermon Persistence Or Nagging? Rev. Danielson

Responding To The Word

*Meditation Hymn #361 How Firm A Foundation

*Affirmation Of Faith (in unison) Confession of 1967
In Jesus Christ, God was reconciling the world to himself. We confess that Jesus Christ is God with us, the eternal Son of the Father, who became human and lived among us to fulfill the work of reconciliation. We believe that the risen Christ is present in the church by the power of the Holy Spirit to continue and complete his mission. This work of God, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, is the foundation of all we say about God, ourselves, and the world.
